It's Medical Monday!

We're thrilled to have you here for our second Medical Monday!

What's that, you say? It's Labor Day and you're not reading blogs today?

YOU LIE.

I know this because like every good medical professional, I am at the hospital working.  I also worked all this weekend, and was on call on Saturday.

I'm new to the clinical side of medicine, but already, I'm feeling the strain on my friendships.  Non-medical friends just don't get why I have to go to bed at 9 p.m. on a Friday night, before Saturday call.  They think that I'm blowing them off or that my schedule is really not as bad as I'm making it out to be.

Sometimes, it just feels like I'm just mediocre in the hospital (because I'm a dumb, baby med. student who knows nothing!) and inadequate outside of it.  There's just not enough to go around.  (And, I'm a single person with no husband or babies to care for!  You mothers in medicine are ROCKSTARS.)

That's why I'm so thankful for blogging and for a community of people who get this whole career and lifestyle.  I depend on you all for support, advice, and understanding.  I get excited about blogging my news or daily activities and I treat my blog reading time as my reward at the end of the day, because it's so satisfying to be able to keep up with your lives too.

Anyway, I'm always psyched to find new medical blogs to read, so I hope you find some here today too!

OMG I LOVE your blog. I found it through to MM linky :)

I can totally identify with not feeling up to par when doing the clinical rotations. I just graduated Respiratory Therapy school and felt that way the WHOLE time. I promise it gets better someday :) Stop in anytime you feel like it!

"YOU LIE." Ha ha! Yes, I am here blogging while my hubby is rounding on patients, and he was on call all weekend, too. ;)

Thanks for your blog! I've enjoyed reading it, and actually once commented as a non-blogger... BUT now I've officially joined the blog world as of last week and jumped aboard the blog hop today as a new follower. :)

Hello! Stopping by for MM blog hop! It is SO normal to feel like you do as you start 3rd year... heck, I feel like that now and I'm in the beginning stages of intern year! It'll get better and then you'll have to start all over again when residency rolls around. But don't worry - we've all been there :)
