Update From a Really Good New Year's Sermon

This past Sabbath was the 2010 GYC (Generation of Youth for Christ) Conference in Baltimore, MD.  I made the drive up for the Sabbath sermon, which was delivered by the President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  I'm not impressed by church figures (having worked for the church myself and all!), so that wasn't my motivation in going, but the President delivered a great message.  Despite being known for his traditional, conservative views, his sermon was also well-presented and relevant.  (Wow, I just sounded like a liberal snob, didn't I?  Sorry.)

His scripture reading?

“But one thing I do:  forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” –Philippians 3:13
How appropriate, considering that last post I wrote about just trying to move forward after last year's series of disappointments.  It was really hard to read that New Year's Eve post after I wrote it, but little did I know that if I just held out one more night, there was a perfectly timed message just for me.  Always on time, that God.  Always on time.
